All sorts of Tummy Time!

Alex has been getting his fair share of tummy time these days. He is slowly getting the hang of this tummy time mat where his arms and legs are the motor. A special thanks to Aunt Claire and Uncle Mike for the enjoyable and educational gift!
Do they have one in my size?

Aunt Aimee gave Alex this rainforest gym. He likes to focus on the fun animals on this mat but enjoys the lights and music the best...for some reason I think he prefers it over mommy's singing!!

...and finally the teddy bear. What better way to spend tummy time? Even better then a body pillow!

I LOVE MOMMY THIS MUCH...

Bottles Up!

Woohoo! Daddy and Alex mastered bottle feeding on their first try!
Alex guzzled mommy's milk out of a bottle like a champ this past Saturday.

Lean on me...

Alex had his first playdate with Jackson and Drew Reiter, sons of Angie and Chris Reiter. Jackson was born just five days after Alex at the same hospital. Mommy went to college with Angie and now live in the same town of Kalamazoo. What fun it will be to see the boys grow up together.

Jackson and Alex:

Older brother Drew is 3 years old and a very helpful and loving brother to Jackson.
Here he is cuddling Alex.

Nap time for the Dampeer kids...

Charades anyone?

Alex's first impersonation of a TURTLE!

DIMPLES!!!!

It's official...Alex has dimples! We hope to see more of them once Alex starts to smile!

Flashback to pregnancy

Alex will be 6 weeks next Tuesday. He has sure grown a lot and developed his own personality. Not only is Alex very alert and most of the time a "happy" baby but he loves any kind of movement and noise. I think this is normal for most babies but I think it was also what he got accustomed to in the womb. The photos that follow were taken hours before my water broke. Since I couldn't run any longer, I would still join Andy and Sophee on their runs throughout the neighborhood...I could barely keep up on a bike.

Someone found their thumb...

Alex and his lady friend!

A big thanks to Andy, Renee, and Camryn Kolzow for letting us stay with them while we were in Grand Rapids for the Eby Wedding (see previous blog). Alex especially enjoyed playing with 4 and a 1/2 month old Cami....

All dressed up...

Alex attended his first wedding this past weekend at 4 and a 1/2 weeks old. Congratulations to mommy's friend from her Dietetic Internship Stacie Rylance who wed Dan Eby. Daddy and Alex observed from the back pew as mommy was in the wedding. Alex was so excited that he poo-ed in his diaper and daddy had to leave the ceremony briefly to change his diaper.

What a handsome little man thanks to Nate and Kristy Carver who gave Alex his adorable attire.

Mommy took a breather with Alex before hopping on the bus and heading to the reception.

Daddy and Me!

Mommy's favorite boys...

ONE MONTH OLD!

One month height check! Soon Alex will be standing on his own...

Am I cute or what?

Oh what fun it has been watching Alex grow.
He spends a lot more of his days wide awake...
