Birthday Fun!

Piece of cake

The cake was a hit...literally! Needless to say, Alex enjoyed his first piece of cake...

...so much that he had to go outside!

His caked on cake barely came off in the tub!

HaPpY BiRtHdAY aLeX!!!!!!!

What a day for the birthday boy! He had a full day of daycare where he enjoyed playing with all his friends...

Waiting at home was a birthday surprise from Gpa and Gma Dampeer...his very own comfy chair. Of course he loved his Elmo balloon too!

In fact, he liked his chair so much he decided to take a break and catch up on some reading.

Yum, yum! Mom made Alex his favorite meal of pizza. For those of you that don't know, Alex LOVES tomatoes and tomato sauce!

No party is final without a cake!!...Yes, that WAS a cake!

GUESS WHO IS ONE YEAR OLD TODAY???????

Happy birthday to our little sweetie!...and to his Grandma Arklie!

Gallop Gallop!

Daycare had an open house today (8/27/08) for all parents. Alex showed mom what fun he has there as a big boy.
(You might want to mute mom's mumbling out of this one!)

Still having fun walking...

Honorable Mentions...

After looking over my extension collection of Alex photos, I thought I would share some of my favorites that failed to get mentioned on the blog...what has Alex been up to lately?..

Relaxing and reading:

Visiting with his Great Grandma Baker:

Showing off his first comb-over:

Climbing in Sophee's cage (all by himself I must add):

And of course enjoying time with Grandpa Dampeer:

Bathtime fun!

Alex's new game:

Still buzzing along...

Our little bee was busy buzzin' along....

...and turning heads everywhere he went.

Adventure in the windy city...

The whole Dampeer clan met in Chicago for a fun weekend to celebrate dad's cousin's wedding. Congrats to Corey and Emily Weidner who tied the knot on Sat. 8/23/08. What a beautiful bride and a beautiful wedding on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago!

Mr. and Mrs. Corey Weidner:

A Dampeer family photo (minus the little tyke of course who was fast asleep not far away).

Not only did Alex enjoy his Aunt Claire...

...he was he city's cutest tourist. He enjoyed the fountains...

...and especially the boatride on the Chicago River.

Another Milestone!

Social Butterfly

Alex started his first day at his new daycare on August 4. He was a very good boy and really enjoyed meeting new friends.

Alex's new toddler room...

...and new playroom.

Alex is the youngest and smallest babe at daycare, but the other kids have enjoyed getting to know him!

He had no problem getting acclimated to his new atmosphere and is obviously enjoying his new friends!

Loving Leo

Alex has become very fond of Leo the kitty.

He enjoys chasing her around the house...

I have a feeling Leo likes him too!

Leo even plays peek-a-boo with Alex!

11 MONTHS!!

What a big boy...11 months old on July 28th!!! Mom and Dad could barely keep him still enough to take his monthly photo with his teddy bear. What a difference 11 months make!

At 11 months, Alex has built his first fort with Gma D.

He also enjoys dancing!...

...and bathtime!

On to Notre Dame Country!

...and to Grandpa and Grandma Dampeer's House!!!

Mom started her new job on July 14. 2008 in South Bend. Luckily, Grandpa and Grandpa Dampeer were there to make the transition a lot easier. From the looks of it, they don't mind having Alex around!

Either Alex is showing off for Gma and Gpa D or they are practicing walking with him!

Alex loves his Gma D...and Leo the kitty.

Alex also loves his Gpa D...and reading books!!

Alex didn't miss a beat in the move, he has made himself at home at Gpa and Gma's!

A visit with the Weavers!

The week before mom was scheduled to start work in South Bend, friends Chris and Kyle Weaver visited Chris's hometown of Kzoo. The Dampeers had a very fun visit with the Weavers as usual!

Kyle shared his shades with Alex Cool!

Alex had a ball with Chris...

..and Kyle!

Then Alex practiced his walking with the Weavers along with scaling the stairs!

Thanks for the visit Weavers! Come back soon!
